Introduction
In mid-August we take a back road to explore the restoration of the Lower Owens River. Just outside of Bishop, California we access Chalk Bluff Road...aptly named. I am thrilled to finally find myself standing at the edge of the Owens Rivers...once again flowing in the river bed. Sadly, visitors to this most beautiful place leave trash, cigarette butts, and illegal fire pits in their wake. It is shameful.
